Rumors, he said. Painful reminders of the reality that could not be. Every day since Link ran away, they had crossed her path, be it for the work of a child that missed him or scoffing nobles that walked by. Zelda clenched her hands together. "The rumors are simply that, mr. Lionel. Do not feed the vultures."

I- from my OoT time travel AU, yet to be titled

It was a very odd sensation, much like staring into a distorted mirror. Zelda's sharp, red eyes found an even sharper blue gaze that didn’t bother to hide behind the Sheikah mask, hanging heavily around her neck. The woman's appearance wasn’t quite right. White streaks marred the auburn cascade down her shoulders — though now much shorter — and her eyes appeared devoid of any life.
